- How much does PrismEmail cost?
PrismEmail is completely free for the first month. During
this month we will not ask you for credit card information
or even your name.
If you decide to subscribe, PrismEmail costs just
US$29.95/year for a maximum of 6GB of email traffic
per year.
95% of all users consume less than 6GB of email per
year, and most consume less than 1GB per year. So for
almost all typical email users,
PrismEmail effectively gives you unlimited spam filtering
for a year.
- How does PrismEmail compare to
other anti-spam services, cost-wise?
PrismEmail is very competitive. A PrismEmail customer pays just $29.95/yr. In comparison, the same user
would pay:
- What happens if I use up all my
bandwidth?
If you receive more than 6GB of email in a year, you will
receive an email inviting you to renew early. However, 95%
of all users receive less than 6GB of email per year so
it's unlikely you will need to renew early.
- How do I pay?
At this time we accept payment only by Visa and Mastercard.
Your card will be charged for the full year by our parent
company, VAULT INFORMATION SERVICES. All prices are listed
in U.S. dollars.
- Will you automatically rebill my
credit card? Is this a recurring charge?
When you subscribe, you will be asked whether you want
us to automatically renew at the end of the subscription
period. You can change your decision at any time during
the year by modifying your billing options online. Even
if you choose to be automatically rebilled, you will receive
an email reminder a week or two in advance to give you the
opportunity to cancel.
- Do you issue refunds?
We generally do not issue refunds. Since we give you a
free month to try our service completely free of charge
and without providing credit card information, you have
a full month to evaluate whether our service works for you.
We will not issue refunds because you decide to close the
POP3 account that we are servicing nor will we issue a refund
because your POP3 service provider blocks us from downloading
your email. However, if you have problems with your POP3
provider or you change ISPs and your POP3 email address
changes, you may configure your PrismEmail account
to download mail from another POP3 address. That is configurable
at any time.
- How do you measure email bandwidth?
We measure the amount of email that we download from your
designated POP3 server. This includes all email that
is downloaded from your POP3 server, including spam. This
is because we are charged for our bandwidth consumption
and we consume bandwidth downloading the mail from your
POP3 server even if it is spam.
- Do you charge more to check multiple POP3 accounts?
PrismEmail can check up to 10 individual POP3 accounts. While we don't charge
more for multiple POP3 accounts, we do count the bandwidth consumed in checking the
additional accounts towards your total bandwidth. For the first account we don't
actually count the bytes of traffic generated by the POP3 checking--only the bytes
consumed by the messages themselves because the bandwidth required to check a single
POP3 account is factored into the price of the plan. However, checking multiple POP3
accounts accounts can quickly generate much additional traffic even when no new
messages are found so we must count this as part of the bandwidth allocated to the plan.
